COMMUNITY KITCHEN
To improve the health, nutrition, and well-being of the RMG workers through developing access to nutrition, diet, hygiene, and sanitation education through a replicable inclusive business model in 2 factories and in their communities by 2023, ACE is aiming to develop a Community Kitchen. RMG workers lead a Laborious and very occupied lifestyle and have no seconds to even breathe quietly therefore, they prefer food items that require minimum effort and can quickly be processed and cooked. On their daily diet, food stuffs like eggs, noodles, and smacked potatoes are frequently consumed by female RMG workers. But they are less or not skilled in preparing a quick, and tasty meal. The Community Kitchen will be designed with the required machinery and equipment to provide extensive support in food safety knowledge development to ensure that the RMG workers have access to healthy and nutritious food. We would like to create 1 community kitchen or cooking club models where the family members will be able to learn healthy cooking and produce healthy meals and snack items.
GREENBIZ
The world today faces an ever-growing challenge of managing plastic waste and transitioning to an eco-friendly economy. The GreenBiz Company runs The Integrated Management of Plastic Assortment & Contribution Towards Green Economy (IMPACT-GE) project in a collaborative effortful way between the public and private sectors to address this challenge. In January 2022, Coca-Cola Foundation partnered with SR Asia Bangladesh to increase awareness about recycling plastic in order to minimize plastic production. In partnership with GreenBiz, ACE is working on this ambitious project that seeks to create value chains for plastic recycling, green skills, while addressing social and environmental challenges. In this effort, the National Action Plan for Sustainable Plastic Management focuses on the circular use of plastic, based on a 3R strategy: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. GreenBiz, a 300-person cooperative, where the majority of women are taking the lead in collecting and sorting plastic waste from households and businesses. Through the help of GreenBiz, these women are not only helping to reduce plastic pollution, but they are also receiving valuable business knowledge, life, and occupational health and safety skills for the long-term.
This project seeks to create a better environment for human living and reduce the negative effects of plastic waste on our planet. Through their efforts, ACE and the project team hope to make a positive contribution to our future.
