About Me:
Abdullah Al Mahmud is working as a Senior Officer- Fundraising and Partnership Development at the Association for Community Empowerment (ACE), and he has been working with ACE since March 2023. His primary focus includes assisting in Program, Grants, and research proposal, research design, research analysis and program development, also he adds value to the projects to achieve their expected goals. Previously he worked as a Junior Consultant with UN Women Bangladesh, contributing to the evaluation of the UN Women Bnagladesh’s programming on gender norms and positive masculinity in Rohingya refugee camps & host communities. Mr. Mahmud’s previous work experience includes serving two years as the ACYLT facilitator for The Hunger Project, where he had the opportunity to impart knowledge and facilitate the growth of young minds across the country. In these capacities, he played a crucial role in content development, module development, budgeting, and research and development. In parallel to his professional pursuits, he has continuously nourished a passion for research. His areas of research include economic growth, poverty, climate change, gender, inequality, and human development. In addition to displaying his ability to disseminate research findings to a broader audience, he writes op- eds and articles for English dailies as well. His previous project experience includes:
Worked as a Junior Consultant for UN Women Bangladesh in their Evaluation Team of the CERF project – a $25M project of the UN Women in Bangladesh (The Rohingya camps and the Host Camps).
Worked closely as a Research Associate for the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) gender inequality evaluation in Bangladesh, in 2022.
Co-developed the Plan International Bangladesh’s Youth Focused Climate Change Strategy named Tarunno in 2023 with Charka Consulting.
Co-managed and monitored the ANNAPURNA project (funded by The Auchan Foundation, France) for RMG workers and provided support to all the technical part of the project.
Mr. Mahmud’s academic background includes a Master of Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
